I was going to talk about healthcare and access to medicine but I don’t know anything at all about it, and I can’t talk about what I don’t know about, right?! So I’ll talk about my favorite subject in the universe: Mars, space. And I wanted to tell you something really important that really happened: a small company, not a government like NASA, a small company called SpaceX for the first time ever actually shot a rocket into space and it worked! Isn’t that amazing? They’ve been working at this for a really long time, well actually for a pretty long time. Their rockets are much smaller, cost much less, and yet still work just as well—probably even better—because they weigh less.
Now about Mars: their future plans include building a moon base on the moon and going to Mars, and then, well I guess I should talk about making a moon base first. By that I mean building a small home on the moon, and I even went to this conference with SpaceX and heard that they were even thinking about going straight to having an outpost on it. An outpost is when instead of sending a few people for maybe a few days to a planet, then sending them for a kind of long time, like maybe ten years, and then getting other people to do that. They are also planning on doing that for Mars but they are mostly talking about doing it on the moon.
And guess what? The only reason I went to the space conference and the reason that I wanted to talk about it over the health care is because I actually want to be an astronaut when I grow up and I am really into space. Since I was two I have wanted to go to Mars. Then I found out that what turns me on is what turns things on! I love writing about Mars! So I might be a scientist with chemistry and physics because of the energy things. It ties in with Mars because you can’t just go straight to Mars, you have to have a reason to go there. If you have to go there to post solar panels there to solve global warming then that is a perfectly valid reason—and it’s mine! I guess another reason is that I am into this stuff.
And here is a really cool fact that is totally off topic: earlier they found out that Mars was snowing (well it was!). Isn’t that totally cool? I bet you’ve heard about this, but Mars is also covered with ancient river channels and they might be finding water. Well, they obviously are, because it was snowing, but they are finding water on Mars and they have ice caps.
Have a great day and I know that this addition to the blog is much more detailed than last night, but that is because I just found out about all these widget thingamagigs, and I really like to use these things, so I will. Have a good day!
